The ossuary of "Miryam' daughter of Yeshua, son of Kopa (or Qopha), preist from Ma'aziah, of the house of Immer"

This unprovenanced ossuary was published by Prof. Yuval Goren and Prof. Zissu with a mistaken reading of the name “KOPA” as “Kipha,” in order to connect in their article the name “Kopa” (mentioned on the ossuary) with the high priest Caiaphas, who is mentioned in the New Testament as the head of the Sanhedrin that sent Jesus to his death.

It should be noted that in the article the drawing of the inscription is presented in its correct form (see Photo 2), and in this illustration it is easy to see that the name should be read as"Kopa" or “Kopha” and not “Kipha.”

Roman period, 1st century CE.
