An ossuary engraved in Greek, with the Greek names “Alexander Simonus” (CIMWNOC) =”Alexander, son of Simon” or “Alexander and Simon”, as well as with the words “Alexander Carnit” in Hebrew (=Alexander of Cyrene).
Simon is probably “Simon of Cyrene”, the man who was commanded to help Jesus carrying the cross. Matthew 27:32, Mark 15:21, Luke 23:26 identify Simon as "the father of Alexander and Rufus".
